Bird Creek Campground south of Anchorage along the Seward Highway has undergone
a complete transformation from the traditional campsites to a more open design. We last visited
this campground on July 06, 2014 and were totally impressed.
Bird Creek Campground, Anchorage Alaska
The Bird Creek Campground rehabilitation project has been completed and what an amazing transformation
it has been. Once a bit difficult to negotiate with a larger RV, today the Bird Creek Campground
is open, overhanging branches are gone and maneuverability is no longer an issue.

Bird Creek Campground near Indian is popular with fishermen and families alike. The close proximity
to Anchorage, easy access off of the Seward Highway and loads of trails for hiking and a bike
path too, Bird Creek Campground is a top destination in the Anchorage bowl. Backed up to Chugach
State Park while overlooking the waters of Turnagain Arm lends the campground to a very tranquil
outing that is affordable for just about everyone.
